As Leslie Knope once told us, “Joe Biden is on my celebrity sex list — well, he is my celebrity sex list.” So she must be pretty pumped that the once and future vice president is going to guest star on Parks and Recreation.

We’re EW, and we approve this message.

'Parks & Rec' Has Fans In VERY High Places

huffposttv:

President Obama said he watches “Parks & Recreation” with his family. Somewhere, Leslie Knope just collapsed.

But does Biden watch? That’s what would really make Leslie freak out.

What’s funny is I follow Parks and Rec on Pinterest and they posted some of these items early in the day yesterday.  At least I recognized the hung-up coats item at the top right.

Parks and Rec really needs to have someone run every one of the Tom Haverford social media sites. (Note to NBC—if you read this, I will do it for you. I’d instagram the heck out of Tommy Edamame’s fictional lifestyle.)

“Mockingbird Lane” will air on Friday, October 26 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. What do you think of the “Munsters” reboot?

I mean, this is obviously better than nothing, but watching it is probably just going to break my heart.

Meet Your New 'Best Friends Forever': Lennon Parham & Jessica St. Clair

huffposttv:

I loved the pilot, hopefully you guys will check it out tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. My love isn’t enough to convince you to watch? What about Maggie Furlong’s? Still not enough? Just read this interview.

Jessica: “Someone brought this up to us: The word ‘friendsbians.’ You’re so close you might as well be having sex, but you’re not. [Laughs.] So really it’s a love story about two women. It’s a romantic comedy, but instead of a boy and girl, it’s Jessica and Lennon.”

It’s really a great interview and show. The way they describe their writing process … it’s a must read.

I watched the pilot on hulu a few days ago…it’s not half-bad. There’s room to grow. Lennon is hysterical.

In Defense of Liz Lemon

Well, I can’t get on board the hate train, especially after last week’s tour-de-force episode, in which Liz morphed from a crazy old subway lady (every New Yorker’s dream: she gets her way at every turn) into Heath Ledger’s Joker. Someone needs to speak up for the Lemon, and for the Fey. Because from the beginning Liz Lemon was pathetic. That was what was enthralling, and even revolutionary, about the character. Unlike some other adorkable or slutty-fabulous characters I could name, Liz only superficially resembled the protagonist of a romantic comedy, ready to remove her glasses and be loved. She was something way more interesting: a strange, specific, workaholic, NPR-worshipping, white-guilt-infected, sardonic, curmudgeonly, hyper-nerdy New Yorker. In the first episode, Jack nails her on sight as “a New York third-wave feminist, college-educated, single-and-pretending-to-be-happy-about-it, over-scheduled, undersexed, you buy any magazine that says ‘healthy body image’ on the cover and every two years you take up knitting for … a week.” Even Liz had to admit he scored a point.

- There’s been a backlash to “30 Rock” this season, particularly the character of Liz Lemon; which is why you should read the rest of Emily Nussbaum’s impassioned 1,700-word defense of her: http://nyr.kr/xDdxKc

Emily Nussbaum is one of my very favorite TV writers.

I asked Megan Hilty (Ivy) and Katharine McPhee (Karen) about the already buzzy “Smash” rivalry and viewers picking sides. Here’s what Megan had to say:

Oh my goodness, it’s inevitable. I’ve already gotten t-shirts sent to me. I plan on rocking my Team Karen t-shirt full force. Every show needs a good rivalry, right?

Find out what Kat had to say here. So, are you Team Ivy or Team Karen?

But what if I like both of them?

…I would totally watch Hey, Roz, especially if it starred both Roz from Frasier and Roz from Night Court.

Seconded. Even though I haven’t watched Night Court yet. I just really love Roz from Frasier.

“Community” Had Low Ratings: So What?

Like a lot of ambitious TV, it has been a magnet for a small, oddball cadre of viewers, the ones who analyze comic beats in the manner of Talmudic scholars, wear T-shirts with slogans that only the elect will understand, and criticize tiny flaws in a thread that goes a thousand comments deep. The show succeeded. It found us. There just weren’t a lot of us.

- Our new TV critic, Emily Nussbaum, on NBC pulling “Community”:

This is a fantastic article.
